Her 2nd Birthday Bash!!!.... Part 2!!!!

...............Ms Priya .................................................Ms Joanna...................................

I had ordered a Hello Kitty cake from Polar cake shop for Giselle to have a mini celebration with her teachers and friends at Del-care. The cake and snacks were delivery by me to her centre when she was taking her afternoon nap.

Ms Angela (English teacher)... Wang Lao Shi (chinese teacher) ......... Ms Grace ........................................ Ms Quek

Didn't want to join as I prefer her to have fun with her peers and teachers alone. Wang Lao Shi has bought her a big Hello Kitty Cushion and Ms Angela has bought her a Hello Kitty cap. It was really very very nice gesture of them to prepare gifts for Giselle. It is heartwarming to know that they actually love her alot even though they often complain to me how naughty and cheeky she was.

Was told by her teachers that she was very solemn during the cake cutting ceremony. She gave that blurr look during the photo taking. I was looking at the group pixs and her classmates were all very cute. Only Vivien clapped and another of her classmate clapped their hands when the birthday song was sung. Giselle was just standing there stoned. Hahaha....Nevertheless, I was glad to know that she took the 1st bite of her birthday cake today :)

Her 2nd Birthday Bash!!!! Part 1!!!

Giselle had her joint celebration today with Daryl who is turning 1 year old on 29 Jul. The bash was held at The Bayshore function room, courtesy of my good friend, Teresa. My dear friend had helped us prepared lotsa things like party packs, banners, Disney table cover and many many more. Really thanks to her for helping to me today's party so enjoyable.

My gal has enjoyed herself thoroughly with every kid, bb, adult... She could go around hugging and kissing everyone without much shyness. I guess she really had benefitted this from her cc and no longer that shy and sticky to me. At times, when Adrian and I were talking to friends, she would go play by herself or with Keith. And one thing, she loved the swimming pool so much there that she nearly wanted to plunge in. My father-in-law was telling he couldn't even control much of her.

The food from YLS catering was great with 70% gone as me and Joanne had ordered extra headcounts. The 2-tier birthday day was from Pine Garden and it was very nicely decorated with Sesame Street figures. Oh btw, must thank Joanne's hb, Terence for being the hero for a few times to get the escaped big helium Disney princess balloon that kept flying up the ceiling.

Just before the cake cutting ceremony, Daryl had fallen asleep and poor him had to be waken up to cut the cake with Giselle.

Giselle din manage to sleep for long during the party, and on the journey back, she kept playing with the party pack that Teresa got for her.

Can see that as she grow older, she will appreciate all these parties more and more with her peers around.

At the Library...

Brought her to library this evening and she loves reading animals book as well as a Fire station book that I got for her.

Coming to 2 years old next Sunday, she can speak in sentences, telling me what Mother Duck, baby Duck, Chicken, chicks...etc... I am quite surprise as we taught her only once or twice of such words.
After we left the library, there was a rental of battery operated children's car just outside Bukit Merah Central NTUC... She indicated that she wanted to sit in it and so we decided to let her try. She enjoyed so much that she refused to let us touch her steering wheel and kept wanting to go for another ride. We had a hard time distracting her.

I Am a Fire Fighter Today!!!:)

Her school had organised a trip to Alexandra Fire Station this morning. Though it was drizzling, Adrian and I thought it would be cooling weather to start off.

Initially Giselle was abit afraid being at the station. However, things started to warm up when she saw her favourite buddy,Ethan, and also how other kids enjoyed themselves.

She was given a fire fighter hat and she simply loves it. We taught her what's fire engine and how the firemen will put out the fire. She went up the mini-fire engine and had fun with the steering wheel. She was also very proud that she shook the hands of a real fire fighter.

When she reached home, she simply couldn't have enough fun of playing with the 4 fire fighter hats that she took form the tour. Even when she took the afternoon nap, she has to "hug" the hat to fall asleep.

We ended the day by bringing her to the library and borrow a fire station book as a recap of what fire station, firemen is all about.

She Loves Puzzles...!!!!

Every day after school recently, she will go take her puzzles and sit on the floor to do them up. Initially when she started doing puzzles 2 months ago, she simply has no patience. She would scream when she couldn't fit the pieces up.

Now she can make a complete picture within a min. Even when I bought her wooden puzzles, she doesn't seem to have much problem with that too. The best thing about after she finished playing them, she will say "Keep Puzzle" and she will quietly pick up piece by piece, stack them into a pile and put on her table.

Swimming @ Mt Faber Safra

We had brought Giselle for a dip for quite sometime. Hence, today decided to do since the weather was quite nice with Sun around.
She had outgrown 2 of her swimming costumes except for the big Power Puff Girl swimmimg costume which I wrong bought 1.5 years ago.

She was very excited when she saw the pool and began to splash water. Initially she has a little fear but soon got warmed up by walking around in the pool with her arm float on. We wanted to teach some water kicking skills but she refused to go horizontal in the pool and kept screaming.
When she saw the slide in the pool, she wanted to try it and kept saying "Playground".

Fashion Show @ Del-care

Her school had organised a Fashion Show and encouraged we parents to dress our kids up as princess, prince, cartoon charaters.

As Giselle was still so young, there isn't any much choices for me to dress her up as. In the end, I just let her wear as per normal, trying to bring some nice clothes for her so that her teachers can help to dress her up as a pretty little girl.

The other kids in the school had dressed up as Spidermans (4 of them), superman, police, chef and many princesses. It was quite fun watching how the kids parade their costumes.

Then when come to Giselle turn to do the cat walk, she refused to do it, in the end, I have to walk the red carpet with her.

"Wash Hair".... Hahaha

I was cooking Giselle dinner today when I called for her to come. After a few calls with no response, I went to look for her but could not find her anywhere, I panicked. Adrian jumped out from the bed and finally found her in my masterbedroom toilet.

When I saw her, she was squatting down, with her hands full of her baby shampoo. She saw me and quickly put both her hands on her hair, telling me "wash hair". Then she began to rub the shampoo on her hair...I really dunno whether to laugh or get angry. OMG... I tried to use a wet handky to wash the shampoo off but it was just too thick. Hence, no choice, I had to pull her over and use the shower head to wash her shampoo away.

Happy Little Girl at Orchard!

We brought her out to Orchard this morning and she was like a happy little girl just came out to see the world. She loves running around in stores seeing thing and trying on things like caps, shoes. The salesgirls were all smiling and waving at her..

Adrian bought her a book on Nursry Rhymes, stories from Borders, hoping she can cultivate the habit of reading more books as she grows.

1 More Month to the BIG 2!!!!! :)

She has just turned 23months and we are counting down to her 2 years old birthday. During the last 1 month, she has improved tremendously in her speech. She can sing alittle of twinkle twinkle little star in Mandarin.

Ms Angela told me she can be quite naughty in school but she is a very smart child. She took her class out to the corridor for a short walk and Giselle was running happily all the way... Ms Angela caught her back and b4 she can warn her not to run, she said to Ms Angela : "No running"... hahaha

Her school has also started to bring them out in strollers to visit nearby shops at the Tanjong Pagar market. Giselle is the 1st one to wear her shoes when Ms Angela said it is time to go out for a walk. However, when she and her class were out, all of them were as quiet as mice.

Giselle can be really stubborn and refused to take out instructions. So Adrian and me has started the "Time Out" punishment. That is to make her stand at the corner and face the wall/door.

Wonderful Perth Trip 07

Perth Trip 26 May 07 to 2 Jun 07

We have set off to Changi Airport at about 7+am, flight was at 9.15am. Giselle was quite alrite in the flight and the air crew love her very much, giving her toys, drinks etc. She basically likes to jump, walk about around our seats.

On reaching Perth and our hotel at Duxton, she and Ethan were busy running about and catching each other at the lobby while checking was in process. When the door of our suite was opened, she was excitedly running about in from the hall to the room and to the bathroom where she spent most of the time playing the bath tub taps. I have a hard time asking her to go out of the bathroom. She has mild diahrrea on the 1st day but was soon recovered on the next day.

I myself was down with fever on the 2nd day of the trip, but was quite manageable after popping some fever tablets. But I felt whole body was very tired and no energy. But still I try my best to look good in order not affect everyone’s trip. Giselle was quite alright with food. Basically I was feed her some outside food as well as white porridge that I cooked in the thermal jar.

It wasn’t really easy to take care of her as some times I really cannot control her. Adrian did help but can see both of us can see she is quite a handful.

First few days we spent our days checking our Perth city, Swan River which is just gorgeous. The weather was cooling and cold when the wind blows.

On the 4th nite and next 2 nites, we checked into the RiverRetreat cottage at Swan Valley. It was really a fantastic, homely cottage where there’s a mini-farm very near to our garden. There are sheeps, goats, pig, rabbits, horse & chickens and Giselle simply loves that though she did not dare to go near them. Every morning she would wake up, jump out of bed, stand at the room window panel and point to the sheeps, saying “meh-meh”, chicken. Can see she really loves to see them. Early morning is when the sheeps went from their grass gazing and Giselle will wait patiently for them to come back.

Sometimes, Adrian will drive the car and bring us to Midland for shopping and makans. I bought a ball for her at Kmart.

During this trip when we can spend 24/7 of our time with Giselle, we realised that there’s a lot of things she know and she can actually sign and do the actions happily when in the car. Normally I will sing the “Mr Sun song” and Hi-5 song to her and she enjoyed them.

When Adrian has some nite driving to and fro our cottage, she would want to hold my hand for courage as the roads were dark. However, she loves to see the moon and stars along the way to the cottage.

I bet she can enjoy even better when she is older. Probably may bring her to Disneyland when she is about 3 to 4 years old.

Our Names and her Name ...22 months 4 days

Just 2 days ago, I began to teach her how to pronounce my name and her daddy's name. Initially when I asked her what's my name, she became a parrot and repeat '' what's my name''. Now she could say ''Mildred'' when I asked her.

She is really a fast learner, probably other kids also learn as fast as her. With 2.5 days, she could pronounce our names accurately. In addition, when I ask her what's her name, she will reply ''Siqi''. English name, she will say ''Gi-tiao koh''. hahaha...

Nowadays, she will also start to retaliate if she is being bullied. Today we met up with Ethan and family. Ethan tried to bully Giselle and she screamed. But she was also very naughty by throwing her shoe at Ethan...

Recently when I am holding her things like her bolster, she would also snatch it back from me and said ''MINE!!!''. So rude!

21 months 13 days

Giselle speech had improved alot over the past week! She could say things like ''Good morning ", "thank you, Mummy'', ''Mummy please'' easily.

She had a fall during her Gym class during school on 26 Apr and her teacher called me to inform me of this. I went over to pick her earlier that day after her nap time at 4pm. She was very surprised to see me, thinking whether she is in dreamland or not.

Noticed recently she is very sticky to me and Adrian again and always want to be carried. had also noticed that whenever she refused to do the things i told her, she would do it when i said I am very angry and will dislike her if she doesn't do it. Wang lao shi also notices this.

Her diahrrea had recover but don't why she is down with slight fever since this afternoon...

Refuse to Eat her Dinner in school

Wang lao shi toldme she refused to eat her dinner these few days. It is very difficult to feed her and she will take a long time like 30mins to finish her food.

Teacher also told me Giselle will close her eyes if she is being scolded in school, like wanting to shut from the world. Haiz... really don't know where she learnt all these...

Btw, her poo has improved slightly though it is still yellowish.

Fly, Help!!!!

Giselle started to have rashes on her stomach and tummy area. Brought her to see GP and was told it was heat rash.

She is now very scared of fly/insect (like me, haha). Tonight, she saw a fly flying in the hall as she came out of the kitchen. She was stunned when she saw the fly. She just stood there, both hands holding to the plate of biscuits. She looked at her biscuits, looked at me and looked at the fly again. I told her the fly is harmless. But 1 min later, she cried for help as she was very scared.

She had diahrrea over the weekend and I am very worried if she felt sick. Luckily she was quite alright. I still send her to school. These days, she no longercry when I say bye to her. Very cool indeed....

Naughty in School!!

Giselle doesn't cry in school nowadays as she has gotten used to her school enviroment. In fact, she has felt so at ease that she started to do naughty things like refusing to listen to teachers, want to do things her own way, bully her caregivers.

Everday when i picked her from school, her teacher will complain to me how naughty she was that day. She refused to open her mouth when other teachers feed her. She would only finish her meal if Wang lao shi feeds her.

As the books always said ''Terrible 2s, maybe she is undergoing this phase. Her mood was actually quite good during this week. She even did a Hi-5 with the Malay receptionist whom she dislike always... hahaha

21 months old today

Giselle is exactly 21 months old today and we brought her to Botanical Garden to meet up with Ethan and family. She had fun watching the swans and tortise. However, weather was quite hot.

She is getting very stubborn nowadays. Maybe today she had too much bread at the garden today and refuse to eat her favorite ABC pasta that I have cooked for her. She just chewed a few mouths and spit the food out each time I fed her.

She slept for 3 hours in the afternoon as I guessed she must be feeling very tired from morning activities.

She did take her porridge dinner and after that, we brought her to harbourfront for some shopping.

Sometimes I feel that she is just testing our patience. She was standing at a pillar today at the shopping centre and refused she come to me when I asked her to. She just walked a few steps and walked back to the pillar crying for me. Meaning, she wanted me to walk to her instead. Every passerby looked at this ''poor girl'' crying and looking everywhere for her mummy.

Kept Falling....

The last 5 days had been a busy and tiring week for me. I have been working full day this while week. But the good news is that Giselle has gotten used to the routine at Delcare and no longer cry during the day.

During the last 2 days, her teacher said that she was so at ease that she became naughty and started to take other children waterbottle to play with them. She didn't actually wanted to put it back even she got scolded by her teachers. Just today, I was told that she was punished by sitting on a chair at a corner. They called it ''thinking chair''. She cried and screamed and kicked when she was being forced to do so.

Giselle fell and hit her head at home during the last 2 days:

Wed incident - I was wiping her and after that I went to the window grille to hang the poo towel. SHe was lying on the sofa when i left her. The next thing I heard was that she fell on the floor with a loud bang. I think she must have flipped and fell like a baby.

Then came Thu, she was sititing at her blue ikea chair playing with the animal figurines on her table. Then I walked past her to talk to Adrian outside the study room. 2 min later, I heard a loud bang again and I quickly turned my head. Saw her lying down on the floor and the chair toppled over.

I think she must have stood up and fell backwards.

Today she came down with runny nose and I was busy wiping her mucus. I had already suspected that she may come down with runny nose as she was sneezing quite frequently these 2 days.

Being a Parrot

Giselle is very jealous whenever I carried other babies. Yesterday I brought her to attend my friends gathering at Teresa's Bayshore condo. She enjoyed it but at the same time jealous most of the time. She loves the playground, kept sliding down and climb up.

These 2 days, she surprised us by saying ''Reached home'' when her daddy's car reached our carpark downstair. She always followed /copied us when we said ''shiok'', ''Aiyo'', ''Haiz'' etc. Guess we have to be very careful with our words liao.

At times, Adrian will punish her by locking her up. I could sense that she felt very scared and she will scream, do something to express her fear and anger. I was very heartpain also.

Today she did something playful. Adrian and I were concentrating on watching DVD and she suddenly came over to disturb us by kissing her daddy face and kept calling him..

She ate quite a big bowl of her lunch and dinner that I have cooked for her. Nothing beats a kid to finish the food that mummy cook for her :)

She is very playful and fun to play with but can be very naughty at times also. However, when interacting with other babies and toddlers, she is just as timid as mouse. These few days, she will wake up around 9am and sleeps at about 10pm.

School Holiday

These 2 days are Delcare school holiday and I took leave to take care of Giselle. Had been worried about Giselle's frequent tantrums recently and did speak with her teachers. Whenever she feels insecure, she will scratch us.

Had realised that it is due to the change of routine that made her feel insecure as now I have to put her full day at Delcare. In addition, there are a few new classmates joining her from infant section. Will give her some time to settle down.

These 2 days has been quite enjoyable as I managed to cook more food for her like Green bean soup as snack. She could finish them all! :)

I noticed that when she had enough sleep, she will open her eyes with a big wide smile or laugh in the morning... really love to see such expressions from her.
