Cycling, Cycling! I want Cycling!

I was playing cycling with her at home this morning and she said she wanted to cycling. She went to tell her Daddy and he said "Ok, let's go cycling".

It was exactly 1 year that we brought her for cycling at East Coast Park. We still remember last year that time, Adrian received a call from Kia to collect his new Sportage while we were at East Coast park Cycling. Today we even let her wore the same shorts as she wore last year for cycling.

We reached East Coast at about 11.35am. Got our bikes and a helmet for her. She was so happy. We cycled to Bedok Jetty then to Hawker Centre for a drink. Who knows she fell from table seat when she tried to stand. She bited her upper lip and it bleeded abit. Got ice from the fruit stall to clean it off.

Thereafter, we headed to Bugis Junction for lunch and I bought a toy supermarket trolley for her.

Toilet Training

AT SCHOOL

Her teacher started her on toilet training for the past week. Ms Angela said Giselle doesn’t let out everything on the toilet bowl at 1 go. She brought her to the toilet during morning nap. When she went back to her matteress, she wetted her matteress. Then Ms Angela brought her to the toilet to try again and Giselle actually pass out a lot of urine. Ms Angela said she is very excited to be on panties.

AT HOME….

I had tried to coordinate with her school by letting her to go diaperless. Every 30 – 60mins, I will ask her if she wants to “wee-wee” or go toilet and bring her to the toilet bowl. Most of the time she is able to pass out some urine. Over sat and sun, so far only 2 accidents. Yesterday brought her to Suntec city and I asked her if she wants to go toilet to wee-wee. She told me “Yes” and I brought her to toilet and she did pass out quite a lot of urine. Her diaper was dry then. Did praise her that she did well by pass urine at toilet bowl instead of diaper.

Today when at Bugis Junction, just before heading to carpark, she told me she wanted to go toilet, hence I brought her there even though I was very tired.

Her Development at 26 months old....

Giselle’s development has really accelerated over the last few months. Ms Angela was telling me how she moved faster than her classmates:
- She can speak in sentences
- She can analysis things faster the rest
- Her mandarin has improved too though we seldom speak Mandarin to her at home
- Her phonics is getting better as she can pronounce “F” and “S” very clearly. Her “Gikel” has now become “ Giselle”!

2 weeks ago, Ms Angela started to draw happy faces on the communication book everytime she behaves or did something good. She was so excited about the happy face and wanted to show me everytime she reached home from school. Ms Angela said she will ask for happy face very time she went off.

Ms Priya has left recently and she left a present for Giselle by putting it in her bag. She was very excited when she saw it and kept saying ‘Present”… “where my present”.
Her Daddy has kept saying she has been learning well in school and we should give her 5 STARS:

A Gift From Auntie Emily...

Had asked Emily to help me get the Hello Kitty kitchen stove set from Kiddy Palace for me. She has sweetly bought Giselle a Hello Kitty toaster set to make her kitchen set more complete. Giselle was so excited about her toaster set that she kept playing it for about 45min. She did pretend play and toast bread for the whole family... including making Milo with the teapot and cup. She had fun bring the Milo to her daddy and said : "Daddy, Milo please"...

Giselle Shopping Trip at BHG Bugis (Seiyu)

We brought her to Waterloo Kuanyin Temple for praying and we went to BHG Bugis for some shopping... Saw Colette shoes was having sales and let her tried some of the shoes like boots. While she was happily taking out her existing shoes on the cushioned stool, she lost her balance can fell balance.
Luckily impact not great, she just had a little shocked. But she soon forgot about it as she really want to try the boots very much. The boots was a little small but Adrian suggested that we buy her the $3.90 slippers instead. It was quite pretty and since she was happy about the slippers, we went to the cashier. As usually Giselle refused to wear her old shoes back and we had to struggle with her.
And throughout the shopping trip, she was happily carrying her shopping bag and refused to let anyone touch that bag. At times, she will peek at the bag while me and Adrian were looking at things.

Had been trying to collect Happy Meals Hello Kitty toys for her these few weeks. Hence has been visiting Mcdonald outlets. Now she is just so excited about going McDonald and these photos were taken at the Harbourfront outlet.

We went to Yoshinoya to have out dinner where Giselle accidentally spill half of her corn cup on the floor.

Happenings at School for the past Week....

Dear Mummy and Daddy

I was so glad that most of my friends were here this week! Except that Vivian was not around. Everyone in class missed her! This week, we were still on the theme “Healthy Me”. Let’s take a look what we had learnt this week.

For English, Ms. Angela read us 2 books. One was “I wear my hat” and the other was “Good night, Gorilla”.
“I wear my heat” was a picture book of different people putting on different type of hats in different places and weather. Like if we were at the beach, we put on straw hat so that we could see clearly without the sun ray shining through our eyes. If we were in a place where it was very cold, we put on winter hats so that we would not have frostbites. If we were going out on an outing with my friends, we may put on a cap. There were so many reasons for us to put on our hats! Even when we were asleep, we could even put on night cap!

“Good night, Gorilla” was yet another book filled with lots of pictures! We had fun doing picture talk. First, the zoo keeper walked past the Gorilla’s cage and greeted “good night”. Little did the zoo keeper notice that the gorilla actually took the keys to the cage! So, the gorilla unlocked himself from the cage and tip-toed behind the zoo keeper. Next, the zoo keeper went to the other animals like giraffe, hyena, lion and the armadillo. The cheeky gorilla then unlocked all the animals and they followed the zoo keeper home. When the zoo keeper was home, he greeted his wife good night in the dark and the animals started greeting each other too! The wife was so shocked to hear so many voices. When the zoo keeper’s wife switched on the lights, she saw lots of animals in the room! She quickly sent all the animals back to the zoo. And did you know what? The cheeky gorilla actually followed the wife home again. Hehe! It even slept on the bed with the zoo keeper and his wife! What a cheeky gorilla! There was a moon on every page and Sean seems to be able to locate them on every page!

Ms. Angela also talked to us about healthy and unhealthy food in relation to the theme. She told us that we must eat lots of fruits and vegetable which will help us to grow. Fish would make us clever and milk would make us grow taller and stronger. Hmmm… I wondered when I could be a big girl / boy just like you. Food like potato chips, chocolates, soft drinks and sweets were unhealthy food that we should try not to eat. Eating those foods would make us grow too big.

This week’s pre-phonic sound letter was “o” where the “o” sound is the same as Old orange octopus.

For math, we did threading using the threading toys. There were pictures of a bear, train, cow and tortoise. Both Emma and Sean were very good at threading! They were able to do it without the help of Ms. Angela or Ms. Priya. Both the teachers were very proud of them. As for the rest of us, we were still trying but I was sure that we were getting better!

For craft, we made ice Popsicle with blue colouring and water. Actually, we were supposed to do ice Popsicle painting. However, it didn’t turn into ice as soon as we wanted it to be. So, we would have to wait patiently. We also made lanterns for the upcoming lantern festival. We painted green on the paper and Ms. Angela then cut lines and added strings, chopstick, cellophane paper and ribbons to the lantern. Now they looked very beautiful!

On Friday Afternoon, Ms. Angela told us that Ms. Priya would be leaving us and Ms. Jesmin would be coming in to take our class. I was sure we would all miss Ms. Priya. As a goodbye gift, we did hand printing on a piece of drawing paper and had our name on foam flower pieces. We pasted it unto the paper and presented it to Ms. Priya. Hope everything would go well for her. I was sure you would miss her too, right?

This is all the fun we had this week. Look out for more happening things the following week!

Playyard

Brought out the playyard for cleaning and Giselle was so excited about it and kept calling it "Giselle house". She even invited us to go into her "house"... Haha
