Our Year End Trip.... :)

We set off to the airport early on 20 Dec so that the kids can enjoy the airport for while before boarding the plane. We arrived Bali at about 10pm and headed straight to Ramayana Hotel in Kuta for a good rest. It was a Balinese style room and it was spacious, especially the bathroom... Giselle kept asking when can soak in the tub! Our room was on the resort club floor and it has central lounge area where we can have free tea and snacks.

On the first 2 nights in Bali, our dear Jaren was screaming and crying his head off for 1-2 hours before going to sleep. I guessed he was really not used to his cot and new environment.

As it was raining season in Bali, we kind of expect we have to carry umbrella around. The 2nd day was drizzling almost whole day and we had a hard time struggling with a stroller and making sure the kids were not wet.

On the 3rd day, we checked out of the hotel and headed to Ubud to check in to The Ubud Village resort and Spa. Before going to the resort, we went to visit a waterfall and had lunch. Basically we were very lucky for the remaining days of the trip as the rain only came during the middle of the nights and stopped when daylight came. Phew!

We spent the remaining fews day enjoying the villa where they was fish pond, hot outdoor tub. And also not forgetting the good food and service; nice resort pool in ubud.

On Christmas Eve, we ate at a Japanese family Restaurant called Kagemusha. It was run by a couple who the Jap wife is the chef. It was restaurant was a favourite among Japanese. We went there for dinner and initially was shocked to find many lizards on the wall, various sizes even. I didn't dare to look at the wall and Giselle was very uncomfortable too. However, when the food arrived, all of us were totally enjoying the food, forgetting our "good friends" with us. Haha...

Overall, the whole family has enjoyed the trip though it was tiring for the adults to take care of the kids :) The next trip that we are all looking forward to will be the Hokkaido trip in May next year!....

Jaren @ 8.5 months...

Well, I weighted Jaren yesterday and noticed that he didn't put on much weight since the last time (though he looks that he is growing well at least to me). Hence, I brought him to see his usual GP, Dr Tan at Dawson.

Jaren is about 7.7kg with a height of 69cm. Dr Tan said although Jaren is petite, he looks well-fed. Asked me not to worry as most important is that Jaren is healthy.

Anyway, since my breastmilk supply is getting lesser, I have decided to supplement him with some formula milk...

I have also started him with semi-solid food like purees, cereal when he was 6.5 months old. He has also started porridge since he was about 8 months old. Initially I really had difficulty making him to open his mouth, probably he was ready to be spoon-fed. He would either turn his head left or right or look down. The food somehow or rather would land onto his bib.... these days are slightly better, at least, he will open his mouth when he has swallowed or the spoon is near him lips. Hope he gets better each day....:)

Hi-5 in Town again...!

Well, since is school holidays now, most malls are having their own meet and greet session for some characters like Barbie doll, Mr Men, Barney etc and of course, not forgetting Giselle's favourite Hi-5!

This round, they are at Marina Square from 26 Nov - 12 Dec. I had promised Giselle to bring her there today for the 1pm show. We reached there at about 12.10pm and the queue was really a LONGGG one! To take pix with the group, we have to be within the 1st 50 families. Well, we were not and I managed to convince Giselle that since she had taken a pix with them last year, she should give a chance to other kids this year. She wasn't unhappy and was very understanding to accept the fact.

While queuing for the show, we met Tim and Stevie walking to the backstage to prepare. They were really nice and friendly by waving and smiling to us.

At the end of the show, Giselle wanted badly to pass a small piece of drawing that she has done to Laurent . Not wanting to disappoint my gal, I sneaked by the side and headed towards the host on the stage while the rest were queuing to go up the stage to take pix.

My original intention was just to pass the drawing to the host, Melissa, and asked her to pass the drawing to Laurent. Well, she said since Giselle is a big fan of Hi-5, she should hand the drawing to her personally. Hence, Melissa gave us a pass to go to the stage. What a pleasant surprise! Giselle suddenly became the happiest little on earth !!! :)
