Jaren is offically a citizen today!

Brought Giselle to KKH to settle Jaren's Birth certificate today. Finally we decided to name him as "Jaren Koh Zhen Jie 郭振杰". We are adopting d same 振 as two of daddy's nephews, hoping that his cousins will take care of Jaren in future :)

While we were registering the birth certificate, Giselle was happily running about.

After the birth certficate was done, we rushed home to bring Jaren to see Dr Tan for his bad rashes on his neck. Dr Tan said it is a mixture of heat rash plus eczema. So he ordered a lotion for it.

The baby in the 1st photo is Giselle and the baby in the 2nd photo is Jaren... Hmm, they do look alike when young... :)

A Proud Daddy...

Eversince Jaren is born, I am glad that Daddy has been spending time with Giselle to make sure she was not neglected.... Now that I am doing my confinement, busying with breastfeeding and trying to recuperate, I could have neglected Giselle as time...

I wonder how am I going to cope after nanny has left....

Jaren at 12 days old

Looks like who? Most people would say Jaren looks like his Daddy, same as Giselle when she was a newborn.

Jaren's jaundice level went up from 78 on day 5 to 139 on day 7. Then after I fed him formula milk for half a day, it dropped to 80 on Day 11. Phew! So at least I can confirm Jaren's jaundice is due to breast milk, just like Giselle when she was newborn too.

Jaren weight has increased to 4.2kg n is drinking about 100ml of breastmilk. I am letting him latch and drink from bottle as well. This round of breadfeeding hasn't been too smooth sailing but hope things will be better when my Medela Freestyle pump arrives.

Confinement so far for is just "hot"! That's because I really perspire ALOT! I have got rid of 8kb but still have about 6kg to go. Well, I didn't go on any diet and in fact I kept eating n eating.

My confinement lady is really a great help to me and I feel so fortunate that she is really good. She is taking care of Jaren and me really well and can cook very well too. This round I am going to do a proper confinement to build up my health.

Giselle's Day 12 of Being a 姐姐

So far Giselle has been very nice towards 弟弟 Jaren. When I am breastfeeding Jaren, Giselle will become my hands n legs to take drink, hanky, tissue for me.

Now she will always come to me n tell me she wants to carry or kiss Jaren.

姐姐 和 弟弟 

Giselle has been anticpating to meet Jaren all these while and her wish finally come true on 14 Mar.

She always want to touch Jaren and play with him but he isn't that responsive yet. Nevertheless, we told her that she must protect 弟弟 from now on.

A Visit from Auntie Joanne & Teresa

Joanne n Teresa came over to visit Jaren and me. We had a good chat n I really appreciate their presence.

The Birth of Jaren Koh

13 Mar 2010:
5pm - contractions started. 30mins apart
10pm - contactions pain 10mins apart

14 Mar 2010:
12.30am - observation ward do ctg, 2cm dilated as checked by Dr Hendricks
1.56am - Proceeded to labour ward
2.26am Administered epidural
5am - 4cm dilated, Burst waterbag,
Drip to increase contractions n speed up dilation by Dr Hendricks
7.15am - Sf checked, dilated to 6cm, he said to get ready to push in few hours time
9am - Midwife checked, dilated to 10cm, getting ready to push, epidural finished.
Push fm 9-10am, no progress
10am Sf came to check bb, he said, my cervix is high, not ideal to keep pushing cos scared my previous c section scar or uterus may rupture as there r blood coming out when i push. So he decided to do c section.
10.25am - Pushed to OT,
10.3x am - Baby is out. Phew!!!
My dear Jaren is 3.4kg at birth and 51cm long.

A Simple Photoshoot at Jacob Ballas Garden

It is Daddy's birthday today and we headed to Jacob Ballas in the late afternoon for some fun and walk. Since weather was nice today, I brought along my DSLR to snap a few shots of Giselle.

She has great fun running here and there. After that we went to Orchard Central and 313 Orchard to take a look at the new shopping centres there...

Advance Birthday Celebration for Daddy

Daddy's birthday is supposed to be on 10 Mar. But since it is weekend, we decided to go for early dinner at Sushi Tei Raffles City.

The food was quite alright as d ramien was not as salty as Watami's.
