The 1st event of 2012 has kicked off with the start of Giselle entering into P1 of River Valley Primary School and also Jaren going into Playgroup at a nearby RC.
Initially I was worried about Giselle having some anxiety into a new school but surprisely she was very much mentally prepared for it. Had packed her school bag about a week ago and I made her write her names on all the books. Gave her a money pouch for her recess money.
School bus on the first day was chaotic with parents squeezing into school bus. And the best part was that the driver nearly forgotten the route to school. Giselle managed to make friends with a sweet gal at our neighbourhood and everyday, she would sit with her on the bus, playing and chatting with each other. I took the first ride with her to school and also the ride from school to home. Just to make sure everything is smooth for my gal and she had boarded the right bus.
Upon reaching the school, the students were led up to the school hall and I just briefly waved to her to bid farewell. During recess time, a P5 buddy was arranged for Giselle and she had noodles soup. I met this nice gal and her name is Kimberly. She took care of Giselle very well. My gal was pretty slow in eating her noodles and Kimberly patiently waited for her. The buddy system lasted for 3 days and on the 4th day, Giselle, together with 2 friends, bought her food without much hassle.
Her teacher had requested a one button file which I need to get it from the bookshop. Hence, I thought it would be a good chance for Giselle to be more independent by buying the file on her own at the bookshop. I am really proud of her though it was really a minor thing. This goes to show my little is really growing up positively each day.
First week had passed quickly. I could see Giselle had enjoyed every minute of it. She looks forward to going to school which I was really happy to see that. She has started to make friends even on the first day and School bus had also started to be more punctual. Now just hoping things will settle down by the end of 2nd week.
