Genting & Port Dickson Trip 14-18 Jun 2013

Jaren bravely took this ride himself as Giselle was over the heigh limit for this ride

Can say it is one of the many good trips we had. We drove to Genting and stayed at Awana Genting Highlands for 2 nights and we moved down to Port Dicksons for another 2 nights.

The weather at Genting was perfect. Cooling and yet still can go swimming as chose Awana which was not at the peak of mountain. The outdoor and indoor playground at the peak of Genting although was old fashion and little old, Giselle and Jaren had enjoyed themselves thoroughly.

At Changi T3

Brought kids to East Coast and Changi T3 today. Jaren saw a high tower of tracks n train n he was so mesmerized by it.

National Day Celebration at RVPS

First time celebrating at River Valley Primary School and hence brought Jaren to Giselle's school to take a look.

The spirit was high n every student sang the National
Songs with pride n joy.

Although our nation came up with new songs for the Nation birthday, nothing still beats the old songs like "Count On Me Singapore"; "Stand Up for Singapore" etc.

PERI Holistic Assessment Exhibition

My little princess, together with another student, was selected to make a presentation at the MOE PERI Assessment Exhibition held at Republic Poly today.

I was thrilled and excited for her when I received the call from her Form teacher last Friday as this was really a rare opportunity. The 2 students from Primary 1 were to represent their level to explain to the MOE officials n VIPs what they have learnt in school n showed them the work done.

Her form teacher feedback to me that she did well there although there was some nervousness at first.

We are so proud of her!!!!

I Do What You Do!

Jaren simply loves following Giselle in what she does. Hence we feel it is very important for Giselle to set a good example for his brother...

Giselle has been joining Dance Ensemble Singapore for chinese dance lessons since Sep 2011 and can see she really enjoys it. The teachers teach them moral values besides the dance step techniques and I would say it is really a all-rounder centre.

It may be very tiring for me to bring her to class every weekend or fri evening this year but still feel it is worth it. They get to perform at year-end concert and also some other occasions at the school.

Micro-Scooters

Jaren has this Mini-Micro scooter as his birthday's present for this year. Seeing that Giselle has been eyeing on his scooter, I bought her a Maxi-Scooter as her advanced birthday present for this year too. She was really thrilled and gave me a big hug!!

Show & Tell - My Family

Giselle has been practicing very hard for this Show & Tell. The topic this round is about "My Family" and she is supposed to describe all 4 members in our family.

As this round is graded, I came up with the idea of doing to doing a bigger board with our family's photos pasted on it. So Giselle and I worked on this board to enhance her whole speech to make it more interesting.

Well, her and my efforts paid off and she came in 2nd with a score of 11 out of 13 marks. Well done Giselle! Mummy is very proud of it!!!!:)

Scootering and Blading Fun!

Nothing much to do today, hence brought them down for some fun at our basket ball court....

Fun Day @ Yishun Safra

Recently the weather has been wet and we tried getting a swim at Jurong Safra but couldn't. The pool was closed due to bad weather and lightning.

Today, however, we managed to make our kids happy but going to Yishun Safra for their water slides. They had lots of fun. Jaren was initially skeptical of the water but after a few dips, he was alright and began to play with the water guns that we brought.

Jaren is a BIG BULLY!

At Jurong Safra

Maybe because Jaren thinks everyone loves him, he has the right to take charge and take advantage of his elder sis. Giselle, on the other hand, has been a really nice big sister who has lots of patience with Jaren and loves him very much.

Whenever we see Jaren bullies Giselle by being rude or hitting her, we would step in and explain Jaren what he did is not correct. We had also told Giselle to protect herself and said "No!" to his younger brother. 

Although almost everyone kept wondering why the big age gap between them but I see the positive of it. Giselle being a much older sister, knows how and try to take care of him like a nanny. Perhaps this is the virtue of Giselle's character since young. She really has a kind heart.
