A Weekend Getaway at Festive Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa

It been quite some time since we had a good break. Since Giselle loves to stay in a hotel room so much, we booked a 3 days 2 nights stay (inclusive of Universal Studio tickets).

We reached the hotel at about 9.30am and managed to get our rooms instantly. It was a pleasant surprised as we expect to check in only at 3pm. The hotel and room was great! Good service, nice room and a loft bed for Giselle - everything we asked for to satisfy everyone. Jaren has his own small baby cot as well.
We headed for Universal Studio at about 11am, together with Stephanie, Joanne, Regina's family. The kids were happy having their own company, as well as all the adults. All the children had fun taking photos with the movie characters like Kungfu Panda, Madagascar, Wood Pecker.

For Giselle, she only enjoyed the 4D shrek movie and some kiddy rides. Jaren was in the stroller most of the time.

I guess throughout the 3 days 2 nights trip, Giselle and Jaren enjoyed their time most was at the hotel room. Jaren was busying having fun crawling on the big king size bed while Giselle was happily climbing up and down the ladder to her loft bed.

Tiring 2 weeks...

At first it was me who fell ill with stomach flu last Mon - Bad diarrhea, fever and chills. Felt terrible for 2 days. Then I was hit with migraine again on Fri - Vomitting and bad head pain at one side of the head.

On the same weekend, Giselle down with bad flu which leads to viral fever started on Sunday morning. This went on till Mon night. She was so uncomfortable with bad runny nose, watery eyes and chills due to fever. She looked really sick. In fact, she hasn't been so sick for quite a long time.

Adrian and me had a hard time trying to keep Jaren and Giselle apart. Both of us really prayed no one, especially Jaren will get the virus from Giselle. Who knows, Adrian got some of the virus from Giselle on Sun night.

Just then as Giselle was on the road to recovery on Tue and I was thanking god for keeping the virus away from Jaren, fever struck Jaren on Tue afternoon during his afternoon nap. He was really uncomfortable and kept whining and whining. In fact, first time I saw him like this - irritated and whiny, because he has always been such a happy and contented baby. His fever hit as high as 38.9degreeC.

As he such a young baby, I brought him to see Dr Tan on wed morning just to make sure he has been checked. After about 2 doses of paracetamol, his body managed to win the virus battle and fever went away.

After my first experience with such continuous downtime for everyone in the family, nothing is more important than having all the people in my family to be healthy!

Jaren's New Haircut (His First)

Jaren's hair has been dropping since he was 4 months old and it made his hairstyle looks rather uneven throughout.

So I thought it's time for him to get his hair trim to looks neat!

The whole process was rather uncomfortable for him and me. I had to carry him on my shoulder. Then the hairstylist to quickly snip his hair and another of her colleague to distract him. As the hair fell on his body, face, neck, he felt so irritated and kept rubbing his whole face on my shoulder and cried.

Thank god the process was fast and I quickly went home to let him had a good bath...

So how does he look now with his new hairstyle? :)

Giselle's Favourite Chicken Rice

When my mum comes to my house to help out on every Tue and Wed, she will buy Giselle's favourite chicken rice from Redhill market on wed. Giselle will always like to eat her chicken rice with a little black sauce.

Of course, from the photo, it's a big packet and this is actually to share with her por por.. haha.

"I Got No More Saliva!"

Her Daddy overheard one of Giselle's telephone conversation with my mum last week. She was chatting and talking on things on "anything under the sun" topics and she got thirsty. Hence, she told my mum:

Giselle: "Por Por, you hold on ah, I got no more saliva, need to go drink water!"
Por Por: " ok! "
Giselle (after she's back from drinking water): "Por Por, ok, can talk already, I got saliva now..."

Can fall from your chair right? Hahaha...

Jaren at 4.5mths old...

Many people said Jaren looks like mummy, but also some said definitely looks like Daddy. Well, I guess Jaren has the combination of my husband and me :)

Not sure is it because of how I trained him from 2 months onwards, Jaren always has been a contented baby. Most of the time, he follows the routine that I had set for him and plays on his own when I am busy. And the most heart melting thing is that when I go to him after I am done with my things, he would always greet me with a smile and sometimes a laugh to show that he is just so happy to see me.

I am really thankful that I am fortunate to be able to witness my kids’ growth and guide them the correct way to grow up and learn.

Jaren seldom gets cranky even when his diaper was soiled. But when he is hungry and I still have not attended to him within 5 mins, he will wail out loud. Haha, I guess most babies do that…Really naughty me.

Compare to Jaren now at 4.5months old to Giselle when she was the same age, they were a big difference. Giselle demanded attention most of the time and it was probably our fault that when she cries, we would attend to her immediately. That must have really pampered her too much.

Giselle and her little brother shares a deep affection in their relationship. When Giselle is within Jaren’s sight, his eyes will follow her movement. When Jaren and Giselle lie besides each other, Jaren will smile and giggled non-stop, with his saliva all drooping out like water rain droplets…..

As I am typing this post, my dear Jaren is trying to lift his bum up using his arms to legs to push it up. Seems like he is trying a new stunt now... haha

She is the STAR Today....!:)

Today, I wish her a "Happy Birthday!" right after she woke up. She smiled and said joking today is not her birthday. Then I replied her, ok, then we are not going to Singapore Flyer and buy her favourite Hi-5 pencil box for her. Wow, she quickly took back her words. Haha.

We left our house at about 10am and headed to UOB to settle some banking matters. After that, we headed to Singapore Flyer. Giselle was very excited when we were on the way to the Flyer, after signing up for the Friends of Singapore Flyer membership, we headed up to take her long-awaited Flyer flight :)

As there isn't any crowd today, we managed to have a whole capsule to ourselves. Giselle was so happy and excited running about in the capsule. Jaren, as usual, was happily sucking his thumb or his usual towel as the flyer moved. I must say he has been very cooperative throughout today's outing :)

After the flight, we went to Suntec City to take lunch at Crystal Jade Kitchen where Giselle gobbled up her favourite char siew noodle. Thereafter, she happily asked if it is time to go Carrefour to buy her favourite Hi-5 pencil case.

As promised, I bought not 1 but 2 Hi-5 items for her. This really brightened up her special day even more. Now, as I am typing this post, she and Jaren are sleeping soundly in their room, with the Hi-5 organizer beside her pillow.... :)

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY TO MY DARLING PRINCESS, GISELLE!!!! Mummy and Daddy will love you always....

A Lovely Picnic @ Botanic Garden...

We haven't gone for a picnic since Jaren arrived. Hence, yesterday we decided to go on a nice picnic early morning today.

Well, early morning was about 8am. That's the earliest we can get everything prepared to leave our house. Giselle was very excited about this picnic. We managed to get a nice spot in front of the Symphony Orchestra Stage at the Botanic Garden. It was a lovely morning with a cooling weather, but no breeze though. We ate our breakfast (prepared a ham and egg sandwich for all of us) on the mat. Thereafter we began to relax and do people watching. haha.. Shortly after, Giselle was running about on the green pasture.

We met up with Lincoln's family and had a nice chat. When the sun came in, we packed up and walk to the shaded area. The kids were complaining of Hotness and started perspiring. We left the place at about 11am as Jaren has to go for his penumoccocal jab this afternoon.

Giselle's Counting Down to her 5th Birthday...

The conversation went like this:

Giselle: "Mummy, Mummy, today is still June?
Me: "Yes!"
Giselle: "My Birthday coming soon right?"
Me: "Yes, are you excited?"
Giselle: "Yes! My Birthday is on July 15"
Me: "What you want for your birthday?"
Giselle: "I don't know!"
Me: "You don't know? Are you sure you don't know?:)"
Giselle: "I want Bee Hoon!"
Me: "Huh? You want Bee Hoon? Ok, will ask Daddy go to the market to buy a packet of Bee Hoon that day..." Hahaha

Everytime when she talks about her birthday, she gets really excited and happy! In the end, she told me she wanted to prepare Goodie Bags for her classmates and a Hello Kitty Birthday cake.

Her Special Playground

My estate has 2 playgrounds and d one shown in d photo is more for older kids and above.

At times, Giselle likes to visit this one with many obstacles. Initially she is very skeptical about playing at this playground. But after a few tries, her confidence get better, she began to like this place :)

Dim Sum Lunch at The Jade, Fullerton Hotel

We brought my parents to The Jade Restaurant, together with my brother and sis-in-law, for a nice tim sum lunch. They were having tim sum buffet on weekends and Jaime had booked this weeks ahead.

Giselle had fun playing Jaime and my brother. After lunch, we walked over to the Asian Civilisation Museum for a walk.

While passing through the Cavenagh bridge, we stopped to take a few pictures. Since my dad was there, we managed to take a few nice family photos.

End of June Holidays for Giselle

Yesterday marked the last day of a month long school holiday for Giselle.

This june holiday was definitely a lazy one for her because she has been sleeping till late almost every morning. I wonder how is she going to adapt to reality next week when she has to wake up at 6.30am on school days.

As Jaren gets older, he could "communicate" with Giselle more. They adore each other - laugh, smile together. Whenever I am busy, Giselle is my little helper to her baby brother :)

A Nice Monday

Supposed to have a baking session today but was postponed.

Hence I brought Giselle n Jaren to Vivo City by bus since the weather was nice n cooling.

I put Jaren in my Pikkolo carrier to make it easier for me to board n alight from the bus n to take care of Giselle :)

It was a nice trip though Giselle is more difficult to manage nowadays.

Jaren @ 12 weeks old

Times flies and Jaren is coming to 12 weeks old now.

He smiles and babble alot now. He is also more conscious of his surrounding and he really wriggles alot whenever he is placed on the matteress or cot. He would been his knees, uses his heels and body to push himself upwards. Most of the time he will corner himself and get really angry demanding for help. They said boys are usually more active which I find is really true. Giselle wasn't like that at Jaren's age. She is definitely more demure then... but now, she is also behaving like a boy at times... haiz..

Kiddy Rides

Giselle has always been a big fan of kiddy rides but usually she does not demand us to put in coins for her. That's the good part of her nature.

But at times we would ask her if she wants to have a ride when she has been a good gal on that day :)
